Butter Cake Recipe

 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) round or square baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Cream Butter and Sugar:
    In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together using a mixer until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

  3. Add Eggs:
    Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  4. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.

  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  6. Add Vanilla:
    Stir in the vanilla extract for extra flavor.

  7. Bake the Cake:
    Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 30–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool and Serve:
    Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy your soft and buttery cake
